The monotheists believe that the structure of the world and the universe and the bond between these two is an ordered, correct structure, and falsehood has no place in it. There are many verses in the Holy Qur’an saying that the order of existence is based on right, and that falsehood looks like the foam on the surface of water which does not last for long. One who considers right as the very foundation of the world will protect this righteousness. And one who considers it as a reward for his right actions will obey this righteous order. Almighty God, who protects such a universe, will enliven the world through His justice-based savior: the last of God’s men. The notion of Mahdawiyyah (a belief in the appearance of the expected Mahdi) does not apply to those who consider that the future of the world will be based on right and justice resulting from a purely democratic system. This is because Mahdi’s type of government will not be of the type of democracy as understood by those people. Only those who believe in righteousness and see it in a Divinely commissioned individualistic governorship, believe entirely in Mahdi (a).
It would be impossible to prove Mahdawiyyah through reasoning alone. This is because, its character, conditions and plans are explained by wisdom, theology and the Islamic leadership. This book has tried to depict the expected Mahdi (‘a) through wisdom and
related narrations.
